How Many Days in a Month?

Pick any month and year and get the day count, with the full twelve-month table alongside.

How many days in each month: seven months have 31, four have 30, and February has 28 or 29. Pick any month and year above for the exact figure, including the leap year case, with the whole twelve-month table shown alongside.

Two ways to remember it

The rhyme — thirty days hath September, April, June and November — covers the short months. The knuckle method works the other way, with the raised knuckles marking the 31-day months and the dips between them the shorter ones. Both are walked through in the knuckle mnemonic.

February and the leap rule

A year is a leap year if it is divisible by four, except centuries, which must be divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year and 1900 was not. The reason for the exception is in February and leap years.
